Village Plan 2019

Update on the Village Plan. What's the Plan?

The 2009 Village Plan was a great piece of work. It was well researched, took contributions from many people and organisations from around the village and set priorities for the Parish Council to follow. However, the actions that came out of it are either now completed or are in need of updating. In addition, new issues such a broadband speed, mobile signal, housing development and green issues have arisen.

Consequently, before updating the Village Plan it's crucial that we engage with everyone in the village to understand what's important to those who live in Swanton Abbott today. To this end we will be circulating a list of the original priorities for you to re-rate as well as provide you with the opportunity to add new issues and ideas of your own. We're not asking for solutions but we do want to capture as much valuable input from the community as possible

To maximise the benefits of the plan it needs contributions from all the organisations based in the village. We also want to hear from all residents, young & old, so that we get the best a widest feedback from our village.

How Can You Help

Although the Parish Council is entirely supportive of the Village Plan they do not own it. To be credible the Village Plan must be driven and guided by the villagers themselves. Consequently the Village Plan Steering Committee particularly need assistance from villagers to help gather and analyse all the information that will feed into the plan. If you would like to be involved please get in touch with any of the following people

Clive Haden, Roger Gilbey, Rosemary Gee, Christine Belsham or Steve Day or
Phone Clive on 538142 or email villageplan@swantonabbott.co.uk
